Toronto could not have dreamt of a better start to their 2026-2027 season. In Kawhi Leonard's first game back since the legendary 2019 playoff run, the Raptors beat the Chicago Bulls 135–92 before carrying that momentum into Washington and defeating the Wizards 112–102\. However, both opponents finished in the bottom five of the Eastern Conference last season. Up next on the schedule are the Minnesota Timberwolves who also started 2-0, and they look unstoppable with the duo of Anthony Edwards and off-season acquisition LaMelo Ball. The T-Wolves through two have a point differential of +47\. Minnesota leads the NBA in 3-pointers, rebounds and will punish bad defensive play. In this article, we're going to recap the first two games and preview what's next for the Raptors.

### **Game 1: Raptors Vs. Bulls**

19,800 fans showed up to Scotiabank Arena to watch Kawhi Leonard return for the first time since 2019, and he didn't disappoint, dropping 23 points, alongside Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley, as they also scored 23 points. Toronto made things difficult for Chicago early, putting up 43 points in the first quarter. Chicago was never able to recover. In fact, the Bulls never led at any point in the game. The Raptors played outstanding defence, forcing 27 turnovers and converting them into 35 points. Collin Murray-Boyles continued to impress Raps fans as he led the team in rebounds tonight, with 8.

### Game 2: Raptors @ Wizards

The Raptors' first road game of the season took place in Washington, D.C., home of the Wizards, who finished with just 17 wins last season, but off-season additions like Trae Young give Wizards fans something to look forward to. Unfortunately for Wizards fans, they had to watch Scottie Barnes put up 28 points and 14 rebounds leading to the second Raptors win in a row. RJ Barrett also performed well, dropping 23\. Toronto just like they did in their game against the Bulls got out in front early, leading 34-21 after the first quarter, and forced 23 turnovers on defence. Very similar to their first game against Chicago, the Raptors dominated defensively, and offensively, they were fueled by star players like Scottie, RJ and Kawhi.

### Game 3: Raptors @ Timberwolves - What to Expect

Two undefeated teams looking to build chemistry with their new offseason acquisitions will face off Sunday night. This will be as tough a game the Raptors will get all season, and I honestly don't expect much. The duo of Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball has been absolutely unstoppable, as they beat their first two opponents decisively, ending with a point differential of +47\. There is no doubt in my mind that the Raptors could come out of Minnesota victorious, but a few things need to happen first if we wanna improve to 3-0\. The first thing we are gonna need to do is lock down Ant and LaMelo. They have been so dominant these past two games, putting the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic in hell. Toronto just needs to repeat everything they have done the past 2 games, but better. Getting the ball to Scottie, RJ, Collin Murray-Boyles will be key for the Raps as they need to put up points against a tough Minnesota defence, featuring four time defensive player of the year, Rudy Gobert.

**My Prediction: Raptors 105 - 120 Timberwolves**
