👉Blue Jays crushed in series opener, lose 12-4 to Chicago.
💻Chalet Stats
👉White Sox scored 12 runs on 12 hits in tonight's game.
👇 3 Biggest Takeaways👇
1️⃣Pitching needs to sharpen up.
👉Spencer Miles, who has been an absolute stud for the Jays this year, whether he is starting on the mound or coming in for relief. However it seemed today that he didn't look like himself, as he was pulled from his start in the fourth inning. The White Sox were on his sinker all night, as he threw it 40% of the time, allowed 4 hits and 2 homers while using this pitch. Miles' breaking pitches were more effective, but he only used them 43% of the time. In Miles' next start, he should stay true to his best pitches, and try not to leave balls over the heart of the plate as those little mistakes cost him tonight. It seems that every time Braydon Fisher makes an appearance, he allows a run! I want John Schneider to lessen his role in high leverage a little more as he did with Jeff Hoffman, because it clearly worked with him. Taking it slow with Fisher is the best way to deal with it, but the problem is I don't think John Schneider realizes there is a problem with Fisher! The Blue Jays recalled Lazardo Estrada and Brandon Little, one of them likely to make a start Saturday, so we'll see how Schneider manages Fisher.
2️⃣Bats show signs of improvement.
👉The Jays bats distributed lots of power tonight, with 3 home runs from Luis Urias, Brandon Valenzuela and George Springer. They were all solo shots, which clearly affected the score tonight. If power is returning to the lineup, the Jays need to get guys on base to make some of these homers count. The Jays at a chance at even more homers, as we reached the warning track a few times, but came up just short. For Saturday, I expect the trend to continue of balls being hit deep, but to really make them count, we need RISP.
3️⃣Defense allowing lots of careless errors.
👉Every day is something new for the Jays, on defense especially. Kazuma Okamoto, who has been working the hot corner this year, hasn't been too sharp on defence, as another error came last night. This goes for the whole Jays defence, mainly the infield. It's just been sloppy this year, lack of communication has been the main issue. If the Jays can solve that, get back to the 2025 defence, it's a big step in the right direction.
💭Blue Jays Questions...
🔥If George Springer stays hot, do you expect him to be traded?
👉The question isn't "if Springer get's hot" it's "if the Jays get hot". So, IF, the Jays get hot, they likely won't trade him.
