👉While on the road trip, Shane Bieber made a start in Washington, where he set a record by being one of the four pitchers in the divisional era to walk 6 batters in the first inning, and was pulled in the first inning! Fast forward to today, he pitches 6 innings, allows 4 hits and a HR, walked only 1 and struck out 5. You look at those two different outings, it looks like two different pitchers. You never really know what your gonna get out of Shane Bieber, and today we got the best case scenario.
2️⃣Alejandro Kirk has found his groove.
👉People genuinely wanted Alejandro Kirk to be traded at the deadline because he's not the most athletic, and his bat hasn't been showing up post injury which is true... but you can't forget what impact he had on the WS team, behind the plate and in the batters box. People forget about Kirk because he was injured and Brandon Valenzuela was playing well. Kirk is a much better catcher than Valenzuela, and now he's proving his worth. Not to make this a competition between the two, they are both Mexican, good friends, but the share of starts where Kirk gets 2, Vali gets 1, it's good, you wanna keep Vali moving, but in a big game, needs to be Kirk.
3️⃣A bullpen game for the Jays tomorrow good be a very possible win.
👉Bullpen games Vs. the Yankees always end up in favor of the Blue Jays, however tomorrow won't be an easy one. The opposing pitcher is Cam Schlittler, who is the only man ahead of Dylan Cease for the American League Cy Young Award. If the Blue Jays can chase Schlittler out of the game by the 5th inning maybe they have a shot, but Cam Schlittler is about as hard as it gets. Braydon Fisher will get the start, likely to be followed by Simeon Woods-Richardson or Spencer Miles. I think the Jays can win, if they get Schlittler out early.
